Has anybody tried fundrise to invest in real estate? The idea and the promised return looks good but it does not seem very popular and the app has very few downloads in play store. Would really appreciate if someone could share their experience/opinion
They have a qualified opportunity zone fund - that’s good if you have capital gains that you want to stash away from taxes and get 7-8% dividends per year. Dividends dropped to 5% annual after Covid but it’s still decent.
Been using it since mid-2019. It gives exposure to real estate without having to deal with physical assets. This implies lower expected returns compared to owning your real estate (of you know what you're doing), but at least you're using other people's time. The investment horizon is expected to be long term (5-10 years min) and the asset is rather illiquid (you can't sell and reallocate every day). Obviously, you have to trust the Fundrise team to make good investment decisions, but that's true for any fund you decide to put money in (mutual fund, VC, etc).
Thank you all for your opinions
Employee here, we give consistent returns to our investors and don't promise anything fancy while giving the opportunity to invest in real estate with as little as 500$. If your looking to get your money back in the short term don't invest with us( real estate is not liquid like stocks but also not as volatile like the stock market ) but if you're looking for great returns in the long term check us out, we've been growing very fast in almost every regard. Happy investing :)
Do more research. Tldr, don't waste ur time.
