As you can see, I work at Microsoft, and I'm convinced that one of the biggest things that is holding us back is our constant focus on enterprise customers. Granted, that's where we make most of our money, but I think it's also part of the reason we rarely make products that consumers really *love.* Plus, I personally hate working on enterprise software. So, how much does the leadership at Apple care about pleasing enterprise customers, potentially at the cost of consumer satisfaction?
We make great consumer products too. Zune, Kin, Windows Phone
Joking aside, maybe you should look into joining Xbox or one of these other companies.
I've really been thinking about it
If you don't like to work for enterprise audiences, you should GTFO from MS to your earliest convenience. All signs point to the company doubling down in those areas, hence you risk accumulating in your resume entries you are not passionate about and that won't help you to get the job you really want.
I'm in a non-enterprise team and love it. make the jump internally or external.
they don't. historically neither does Google.
formerly worked on enterprise, tools vs toys.
