Pony.ai or Microsoft
Hey, I got offer from pony.ai and microsoft. Microsoft’s offer is in bing. Pony.ai’s offer is in planning&control. Which one is more appealing if you are the person that’s trying to make the decision (not including staying at google)? Compensation is about the same at google, Microsoft or pony. I am looking for a change of environment, so not considering staying. Only deciding between Microsoft bing or pony.ai.
Tc how big a jump is it ?
The biggest TC, if all been equal and you have saved a lot pony else Microsoft
Real talk, if you know what you’d like to achieve at Microsoft it can be so amazing. It’s like mid-rebirth right now so there’s lots of opportunity for folks that are willing to work the way Googles work. If you’re not sure what you want out of the next opportunity, then I’d probably sort next by hiring team and hiring manager.
Pony. AI if you like working in Autonomous Mobility space. If you are Chinese, Pony. AI is good, because majority of employees are Chinese.
AI for autonomous driving is just a hype, and great majority of such startups will be wiped out in next 3 years or so
Microsoft - if you find the right org / manager. Microsoft has completely shifted its focus to AI, Cloud and Enterprise and future looks incredibly promising under new LT. I am bullish on Microsoft and Amazon more than F/G.
Calling pre IPO stock TC so silly. If it goes big it’s worth a lot more. If it goes under, nothing. Either way, discount for net present value also.
