I am close to getting an offer from SVB for a director role in Tempe AZ. I really liked all my interactions with people from different groups. Any insights into work life balance? Feel like they work long hours. What kinda total comp can I expect for a director role?
Please update once you find more details, i am considering a data scientist role there
Interested as well. What does the Tempe office do?
Tempe is our back office hub - operations, finance, legal, etc. The work they do is critical to enable our teams to grow the organization!
Scott’sdale and PV are better than anything in Silicon Valley - stay right where you are boi
Sounds like a lot of good golfing out there and somewhat affordable housing, must be nice.
Culture at SVB is pretty awesome. Supportive executive leadership, committed to spending money to enable our employees, stable financial base, and mission driven to support the tech ecosystem! Can’t speak to hours on your team (I’m on a deal team in SF), but the culture is very much focused on results, not hours (especially during covid). Good luck and hope to see you on the team!
Mix a FAANG and a FS company that's what the culture at SVB is like. I like it, it's a good middle ground.
May I ask what's going on later? Did you accept the offer from them? I am interviewed by them recently. Just started this week...
I didn’t get the offer. I was interviewed for 4 months and I spent 13 hours talking to 11 people and they even sent me process on background check, asking me to initiate it. Minutes later HR called me and told me that the hiring manager decided to convert that role to a contract role instead. Most disorganized interview process I’ve ever had. Looks like they had no clue on what they want. Don’t waste your time here.
Thats sad. You went through whole loop and case study interview?
The role I interviewed was for a director level role. There wasn’t a case study as part of my interview process. I believe I went through the whole process though. Recruiter even gave me a verbal offer.
Get a membership at the mountainside fitness at the state farm building. A lot of good looking people there.
