Had an interview with another FAAANG outside of Google, and the interviewer repeatedly asked me about my To-Go box usage at Google Cafes, specifically if I loaded up multiple boxes for my family in the evenings. It was supposed to be a technical interview and we didn’t even get to the coding questions because he seemed so obsessed.
I’m not obliged to be honest about that am I? The true answer is quite a lot (I do meal prep for a side hustle) but can the new company actually find out??
Meal prep business with items from the cafe? Sounds like stealing 🫢
They already knew, which is why the interviewer focused on this question.
Did they ask you about your preferred level of spice in your curry also?
How is the free food quality?, I hear was better before Covid times
Before Covid the food was very flavorful. After Covid I can barely smell or taste it.
What an oddly specific post?
Maybe it was leading to a programming question. LC hard - how many boxes of food can you optimally hold in your hands?
He said he would not do the coding question until I answered truthfully about the to-go boxes, so we never got to it. I have not yet heard if I passed.
By the way I don’t hold them all in my hands, I put them all in a large plastic storage container which has wheels on it. One of the kitchen staff helps me because she is part of my meal prep side company.
Maybe your interviewer wants to get a job at Google so that they can load up multiple boxes for their family. You didn’t get to the coding question because of this?? Wow, did you pass the interview?
That’s because he loads up your mom’s box every night
