You figure out why they are calling it a shit show. Confluent has very good hikes and pays really well but then it is operational work day in and day out. You will get bored if you want exciting work.
Cockroach Labs is good in terms of pay, wlb and work. Similar to CFLT pre IPO.
I guess it doesn't even hire mid level or junior SWEs in India.

I work in the US. I didn’t know Confluent pay is on par with Google. My main question would be ability to get interview calls - I am assuming one would get more calls from Google than Confluent but not sure

Yes. Anyone's mom can get into Amazon India, and I've seen the wide breadth of people who work there. Atlassian can always match Amazon pay, and even give better if you have other offers. Also your company is in a higher tier! Will add.
