PyTorch to Linux foundation

Is Meta moving PyTorch to Linux foundation a cost cutting measure ? Does not have to pay a lot to SDE MLE and ASs to build and maintain the framework. Also need not compete with Tensorflow to the neck, instead can go at it own pace ? Any metamates can give insight into the decision ? I absolutely love PyTorch btw ! TC 205 and crashing !
