Good for them, no idea where my tax dollars are being used
It works out in the end, they take more of our dollars in taxes when big companies don't pay. When it's not enough to get things fixed, well good for those big companies anyway.

They provide enough revenue for Uncle Sam through income taxes paid by their highly paid employees, sales tax and other forms of taxes.
why don't companies pay more and employees pay less
Companies are never going to pay more. And employees (i.e. high earning ones) are minorities (as voters), so governments resort to extort them the most. Employees who are very high earners afford to take advantages of the system and pay less. It's hunger games, not utopia.

Any company can “lose” money in previous years Not all use these tax saving mechanisms. The big ones that don’t is not out of stupidity
