I am in the market to buy a new TV/Projector. The products that support these techonologies havent matured yet and there is no dolby vision projector yet in the market. I am not the kind that change my products frequently, so the question is should I wait or buy one right now? And which technology is superior according to you. You can also advice the specific TV/Projector as well if you have one in mind. I am not the one with endless pockets to reach for the best. I can extend upto a max of 2k for a TV or 3k for a projector(Inclined to a projector). Also you can vote on what technology you think is the best. Obligatory TC : 130k
All of them almost the same, not too much of a difference
OLED TVs better than any projector if you really care about image quality. LG OELDs supports all the latest technologies such as HRD and Dolby Vision. But if really care about having a bigger image size then go for projector.
The difference will be marginal between Dolby Vision and HDR10+ but very few movies have HDR10+ anyway so you wouldn’t get a lot of benefit out of it. Dolby Vision vs regular HDR is noticeable but not a huge difference honestly. If you’re streaming media especially the difference will be even smaller. If you watch 4k blu rays it’ll be a bigger difference.
I just got the Sony A80J OLED. Incredible picture. Highly recommend. Dolby Vision is more widely supported. Samsung seems to be the only mfg that is going all in on HDR 10+
All of the OLEDs are made by LG (including Sony) so might as well get the LG. I don’t think the Dolby hdr matters so much. If you want maximum picture quality get an lg oled. If you want a huge screen get a 4K projector
With 130k you should not buy 2k tv. Unsolicited advice !!!
