Just passed through a recruiter screen for an IC2 position at Procore. This is my first interview with a unicorn/FAANG like company. I would really appreciate if anyone has information on the interview process, what kind of questions they might ask, and what to prepare for. #procoretechnologies #tech
The state of software engineering at Procore is in disarray. Depending on the team you may not be in a position to have impact nor to grow and learn. Stay away from “platform” teams. The Financials product teams have the better engineering technical leaders. Outside of that be very careful.
Run far away
If you have previously worked at Expedia then you can expect an offer pretty quickly.
Haha nice one!
Why is that?
Run away fast! There’s also a huge lack of diversity here too! Worst I’ve ever experienced!
The lack of diversity is troubling for sure. Though I have found any DEI at companies to be largely performative not just at ProCore.
This is for which location
As someone that has worked at several tech companies and now works at procore I truly don’t understand the “run away” comments. I love working for the company. I’m assuming you’re interviewing for engineering?
How is the pay compared to other companies
It probably depends on team. I’ve worked at a few too and I will say Procore is mid. Pros and cons it just depends on whether the pros outweigh the cons. And those are very dependent on the individual. But inside P&T the last year and change has been less pros more cons than it was previously. Overall I feel like procore is trending down as a place to work. But it could get better. Definitely would still encourage interested folks to check it out for themselves, could be a great option.
OP can you share any insights about tech screen?
Ive been through it. My experience was atrocious. They put you through 4 interviews in the final round, but the only piece that matters are the technical. HM and leadership interviews were useless. Very uninterested and disengaged interviewers. I would honestly not recommend.
Thanks for the response, the recruiter also seemed pretty disengaged from the communications I've had so far. Mind if I dm you?
