Have a final round interview next week for an APM position at Disney Streaming Services. Would love to hear if anyone has experience interviewing/working in product at DSS and any other insight! Currently in a data role and am aspiring to PM so would love to jump on this opportunity, however have heard some off-color things about DSS culture.
Do you mind sharing what the interview was like/what types of questions were asked? Haven't heard much about the PM interview process at Disney!
Totally! I was reached out to as a Grace Hopper attendee, so I didn't apply to a specific role. My first round was very behavioral (asked me what my favorite Disney character was, which I loved) and one metric question. Second (final round) interview was similar, definitely more behavioral and less product-y than expected.
Depending on the role the comp level is on par with any of the FANG entities specifically in NYC. You're not going to get a $1M RSU offer, but we do offer RSUs. You need to remember DSS isn't managed by TWDC tech team and we still operate as if we're Bamtech Media, which is a tech company.
Awesome, that's good to know. Have seen some Glassdoor reviews that are nasty, but I'm trying to take those with a grain of salt. The job is an entry-level PM job and I just finished interviewing, so if I receive an offer I will probably have more questions!
Did you receive an offer? im going through interviews right now for PM role :)
If culture is giving you a worry, I would say not to. Culture here is great, obviously struggling like everyone else with all WFH. Only thing I'd say is we have lots of PMs around the org and you'd need to stand out to rise up the ranks.
Ok! What would you say about comp/benefits, specifically at NYC office? Have heard mixed things, but also understanding of the fact that Disney is not a tech company so it's obviously not FANG level in terms of those things
Hey, I applied to the Payments PM (because that’s what I do) — can you tell them to look at my resume?
