Blind is an antisemitic cesspool
They hired an outside firm and paid like $65 to interview me. (insulting because they are saying I am not worth their time to talk to me directly.) To double ka-ching, that firm said, "Oh we need a second session with this candidate" to double their revenue. I refused, and CZI said ok we will make an exception. The lead / manager told me something she didn't know how to do at work, and asked me if I know something about it. I said I usually don't deal with setting up Jenkins or setting up the code coverage tools but just use them. She was disappointed and they did not move forward. It was a Senior Software Engineer role. TC: $185k
Tax evasion, like most millionaires
how does it save tax? The company still burns money... and about them donating a lot of money to charity when they pass
Lol what. Def not. They spend hundreds of millions. @cisco the $65 is peanuts compared to what they donate. CZI has better fish to fry than dealing with an additional $65. That’s less than a rounding error. Most head hunters are getting 10-20k+ per candidate hired. So spending 65$ to ensure they’d be a good fit is well worth it.
Carrot?
They use a third party service called karat. You didn’t do well on the first round and that’s why they asked you for a redo to give you a chance. It has nothing to do with money. You sound like sour grapes because you failed.
Interviewing is expensive. Context switching is expensive. It’s reasonable to use a third party to vet candidates IMHO. Karat is decent except for the ridiculous questions they ask you at the beginning that feel like a rorschach test. If you pass that and the HM interview CZI really dedicates a lot of time to interviewing you, getting to know you and making sure you not only have the skills but are aligned with the culture. I went through all 9 interviews so I know. It was exhausting but thoughtfully done and well balanced to help prevent bias.
It's a shit show from what I've heard
