I’m discussing my offer ( initial convo ) with Morgan Stanley NYC for $190k base and $25k bonus ( 12+ yoe, h1b) . The recruiter said max base for VP in Tech is $175 so it would be a stretch. Want to know from insiders how things are for the VP band for base + bonus ? PS - I really want to switch cause I don’t like my current manager so much and the work isn’t going in the direction I would want it to.
No stock?
stock only kicks in when bonus is greater than a certain number
Only after tree fiddy
The cap on base seems legit if in a tech org. BU orgs can easily do a 200k base (standard) at VP level. Focus on the total comp. that’s what matters.
But bonus can waver next year on ... base won’t
@BR true... But employment can waiver in a down market 😂
What department?
Do they write bonus amount on the offer letter or its all verbal conversation?
First year bonus is guaranteed at the moment of signing. Wether this is verbal or on paper, it is locked in the bonus sheet.
Bonus sheet? Company's internal system?
Your recruiter is full of shit. A guy on blind received 220k base 15k bonus in may for VP position
Pasting the post: Im getting VP position being 12+ years 220 k base 15-20k bonus No RSUs They are buying out a decent amount of my unvested RSus Love the job opportunity and team though. What do you guys think of the offer ? P.S current base is 170 , annual RSUs may be worth 40 k each year. Bonus close to 15k
Ah thanks .... Well I don’t have RSUs for them to buy out. I do have my invested 401k employer contribution .
I got VP eng offer from GS. 200k base, 100k bonus, 20k relo + 55k stock buy out. In Jersey City
Did they tell you what product area?
Margin
VP(very poor) offer for a VP position!!
VP in finance means nothing.
YOE? And more importantly - domain/product area?
Sorry ... updated
Again - what product/job function? Are you automating back office processes? Too high. Lead dev for an algorithmic trading platform? You have room to negotiate
