Apple to Layoff Folks from EV Project
Hey Apple Folks, Are you all going to layoff engineer’s from EV project? Just heard from the news that they are scrapping EV car project which started decades ago. Also on similar lines, given that Apple has failed to build its own 5g modem, will Wireless also meet similar fate? #apple
I'd guess they'd lay off anyone whose main specialty lies in automotive and keep the people that were taking care of the AI / infotainment side
Where is Apple training these models? If at all? They don’t have the infrastructure.
I guess for EV, it’s more about Computer Vision algorithm. Maybe they would doing it on their own hardware instead of cloud based architecture. Compared to generative AI , I don’t think they would require a node in a cluster type infrastructure to run their model.
