Hi folks, I have superday interviews at goldman. The position is quantitative engineer. one is coding and another one is quantitative interview. What is quantitative interview? If you know, please tell me roughly what is this interview Thanks
Probability, statistics.
Is it theoretical or practical? Cuz, my background is more engineering side
Quants at GS are not real quants, your ideal route for real quant engineering would be big tech -> hedge funds. Quants at GS are stuck with proprietary tech like Slang, SecDB with shit pay. Please do not join unless it’s the last offer or you’re on a visa
Thanks for your comment. I’d love to go straight to a hedge fund, but it doesn’t seem easy. How’s the culture? It seems to be further far from tech.
And pay is low? Associate is almost junior level? I have 2 years experience in finance, but 10yoe in tech
Check out probability and puzzles, brainstellar for example.
Is this a coding base? Do you have any example? Because in JD there is no math things, so I didn't expect to be interviewed like this
What's the line of business?
Controllers division
