I have recently found out that some banks (eg CIT bank) only allow only US Citizen and Permanent Residents to open a savings account. Does anyone know here the banks that provide good interest on savings accounts and also allow H1B visa holders to open one. Would really appreciate if anyone here can suggest some bank names. Edit - Also I am looking for a bank which is parternered with Zelle and seems like American express and SoFi do not have Zelle. Also wondering that the wire transferring money from bank A checking account to Bank B checking account cost a fee? Or is it free? Blind Tax - $200k
Use Sofi- they offer 3.75% on savings and are fdic insured since they move the money to banks.. dm for referral :)
Are you sure about that? There’s a difference between being a US resident in terms of immigration and a US resident in terms of tax laws. If you lived for the majority of the year in the US, you are a US resident as far as banking and taxation is concerned.
Marcus. Synchrony. ETrade HYSA.
Weatherfront, Marcus are really good. DM me for referrals to both banks.
Capital one? They give 3.5
Wealthfront gives 3.8%. DM me for a referral.
