Resignation Impact on Severance with Pending Job Offer
I have been given a separation date of April 2nd. I am close to receiving a job offer from another company. My question is, do I need to resign from PayPal in order to join this new company? Also, will resigning cause me to lose my severance package? How does this work? #layoffs YOE: 2 TC: 0

Resigning would very likely result in your severance to get canceled. Can’t you join the new company after your last date at the current one?

You can always accept the offer and then delay the joining date on the pretext of some personal issues
