What’re the usual routes of leaving Intel G7 PE roles ? Find similar positions in LAM,AMAT,KLA, ASML? Is the equipment manufacturing company any better than Intel for WLB or job satisfaction? Has some one transitioned to Apple or Meta ? Is that any better ?#semiconductor #intel #processengineersalary #lamresearch #appliedmaterials #apple #meta #asml #processengineer

Nobody wants a process engineer, that’s a hard fact. You should change roles to yield or integration or maybe device.
LAM AMAT KLA ASML and equipment vendors have bad WLB, high stress and pay 🥜. Don’t recommend. Talk to people in those companies and you will see.
Of all the companies you listed KLA is the worst they stress you out so much and pay you so little you will die in your sleep. If you have a family that loves you don’t even consider considering KLA. Why don’t you go to apple or leet code?
The best route I have seen is to get to G8 first. At that point, you have owned a pillar like cost, productivity, etc. You have also had sufficient vendor interaction. If you are in HVM, you have done the tech transfer, and if you are in R&D, you have admistered one. From there, more will be open, like supply chain and manufacturing engineering at other companies.
And all advance memory and logic fabs are bad because they compete with workaholics with PhDs who never worked in another field and workaholics in Asia who don’t know any better
Thanks all for valuable feedback 😊
I moved to a vendor company after I was promoted to G8. It made sense from pay and work exp stand point. My TC is between Intel scale of G8 - G9.
