qualcomm or nvidia new grad

Ive interned at both and will most likely get offers from both (kernel/embedded). I've looked at levels.fyi and the qualcomm one seems to fluctuate between: base | stock/3 | bonus 90k-100k 40k-60k 15k - 25k where as the nvidia numbers are higher like base at 118k - 130k , stock 60k - 80k (i think over 4 yr?) and bonus around the same as qualcomm. My question is, are the qualcomm numbers right as of now? And is it worth it to take less money because you like the team ? or should i take Nvidia offer with better numbers. Both in USD. #qualcomm #nvidia

NVIDIA doesn’t have cash bonus, I would choose NVIDIA for the diversity of work, WLB and Bay Area.

You should keep in mind that money goes much further in San Diego than the Bay Area. Look at this article to get an idea https://hired.com/blog/candidates/list-tech-salaries-across-country-2018/ . Having said that, you should also think about which company you actually liked working for rather than just comparing TCs.

RSUs should be lower than what you mentioned.

Qualcomm agwh Apr 27, 2020

Qualcomm increases its RSU to be a bit better last year. RSU for engineer level is 40k/3 and senior 60k/3 nowadays. Refresher is ~40-50% of that

How much for principal engineer?

Qualcomm agwh Apr 27, 2020

Refresher or new coming, i don't know about principal but seen senior staff refresher of 100k for high performer

Having worked at both companies. Qualcomm is still primarily a chip company while Nvidia is more of a systems/ product company. Companies growth is tagged to your personal growth and Nvidia looks better in that sense. If location is preference then there is no better place to live than in San Diego
