Thinking about applying for a position at a customer site. But I’m curious if it’s worth jumping ship from Northrop Grumman. TC: $130k
Work life balance is great for me, but I agree with the others that it’s program dependent. They recently enforced RTO 5 days a week for BR&T (if working onsite is an issue, this might not be a good company to jump to). Medical Insurance and Retirement is great (especially if you want/plan to raise a family). Pay obviously isn’t going to be at the scale of Big Tech, but since you’re working at Northrop, salary expectations should be relatively similar
Yup, agree with this. The RTO is also BU/program dependent. I’m on SLS and that has not been directly flowed.
feel free to dm for a referral if you end up wanting to apply. with the caveat of RTO i really like it here. i can leave and go go any appointment (DMV, dentist, etc) without taking PTO. very chill, great WLB. they are really early risers on my program… more like 8-4:30 than 9-5:30. or even earlier 10% 401k and 22 days PTO (over a month) fresh out of college. with more YOE you would probably get more PTO plus sign on bonus. if you want a pilot’s license, crazy help with that as well. i’ve heard all the aerospace giants are similar. back when i had 3 days in office/2 days remote i was a lot happier. our offices suck
Boeing 401K sounds like the best out of any company lol Northrop 401k sucks at 6%. The pay bands on Boeing jobs seem to be like 7-10% lower than NGs though. That being said don’t think NG has enforced RTO yet luckily which is probably the thin lining as to why there hasn’t been a mass exodus yet but will be if it does get enforced. Still a lot of people have left regardless of RTO though, pay in these big aero corps are too low!
Pay bands are a little lower than NG (just switched in Jan from NG to Boeing) but the bonus pool is 7-9% for everyone vs at NG it’s either the $1000 or TI for a select few.
Lol that’s true f NG $1K a joke and every year it’s worth less lmao their tuition reimbursement also the same after the crazy covid inflation
Our office can’t afford a trash can and cleaning services. We have to bring our own vacuum. Pathetic!
What's it like at El Segundo area? I said no to a software dev role, but they came back with a sign-on to make up for some of the difference. I just turned 50 and the tech life is wreaking havoc with my hair line.
That’s a pretty good run eh? Wrecked my hairline in my early 30s
Wlb cannot be beat 40 hours will be a lot most weeks
Completely role/program/team dependent honestly. My experience coming from RTX to Boeing was much better but I attribute that to the program I’m on. Benefits are top tier at Boeing I will say. 10% 401k match instantly vested.
