Ready for a Challenge?

We are a growing, successful, and award winning Managed Services Provider based in the greater Boston area with a presence in San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia. Size, less than 200 employees. We are hiring. Constantly. We are primarily looking for IT Support professionals, but also have openings in Sales and InfoSec. We recently hired our first AWS developer. Maybe you are bored and looking to up your game. Maybe you want a break from big corporate life. Maybe you don't like the risk involved with working for a startup. If this sounds like you or someone you know, please reach out. I will tell you this, working for a MSP is *hard*. I would argue it is the most challenging IT Support job you could possibly have. It is fast-paced. The spectrum of hardware, software, and systems you will need to support is vast and wide. Windows/Mac/Linux/AWS/Azure/O365/GSuite/Exchange/Cisco/HP/Dell/FortiGate/Aerohive/Mimecast/Egnyte/Centrify... I could go on. In a single shift you could handle 15 different problems at 5 different clients with varying ranges of difficulty in any of the mentioned areas. I like to equate it to elite military training like the Seals. Work for an MSP for a few years and (if you survive) you will emerge as a lean, mean, problem-solving machine who can be dropped into any situation and win. Adapt and overcome! (Wait, that's the Marines) But you don't just need technical skills. We set the bar very high on customer service also. You will be expected to interface with our clients either face-to-face or over the phone and provide white-glove level service. We are looking for people with a passion for helping others. We have a deep pool of talent on our team and try to foster an environment focused on collaboration, team-building, and knowledge sharing. We support each other. We have each other's backs. If this sounds attractive to you, or you know someone who might be a fit, please reach out. About me: I do not work in HR or talent acquisition. I am in a senior IT support role. Just a guy in the trenches who wants to help his company succeed. If you have any questions about what it is like to work here, the type of work we are doing, or the types of clients we have, I would be happy to answer them. I will be straightforward and honest.

Eh... I've never actually been there. According to Google Maps it's East of the river near the University of Philadelphia. I should mention that most of our positions are for Boston, with one opening in San Francisco.

if you have one in Philly I'll take a look into it or find someone that might fit the role better

If you're constantly hiring, what is the average tenure of a support engineer? If they get in over their heads on an onsite, what kind of backup can they call in? What degree of specialization is required? Are you looking for newbs, or experienced folks?

Hi there. Sorry, I've been off Blind for a while and just saw this. Average tenure varies. Working for an MSP (any MSP) can be stressful and some people crack. We have support engineers who have been here for over 5 years and others who have come and gone within a few months. TBH we have been going through some growing pains. A few employees left about a month or two ago and wrote some pretty scathing reviews on Glassdoor. In my honest opinion management has responded well to that and has been making a lot of positive changes to improve quality of life for engineers and reduce stress/workload. As far as backup when someone is over their head, we have a great team for that. We have clearly defined escalation processes and everyone on the team is willing to help each other out and share knowledge. I personally feel like I have grown a lot over the past 2+ years. Mainly looking for experienced people who can hit the ground running. No specific area of specialization. Everyone is a generalist. For instance, we don't have a "networking team", a "windows server team", a "storage team". Every engineer has some level of knowledge and experience in all major areas of IT support. Obviously each person has particular strengths and weaknesses but we all feed off of and learn from each other. Key areas we look at: Windows Server (AD/DNS/DHCP/DFS, etc.) Exchange Server (2010-2016, O365) Networking (routing/switching/firewalls) Windows Desktop (Win 7, Win 10, Office, Antivirus, etc.) Mac OSX VMware Storage (SANs) The depth of knowledge you would be expected to have would vary depending on the position you are applying for. Let me know if you have any other questions! I promise you won't have to wait 3 months for a reply this time.

I should also add that our "constant hiring" is more due to our growth than people leaving. For example we just landed a very large and well known investment firm. We're going to have engineers there 40hrs/week.
