got the standard hive offer of 140k + 60k stock options and 10% bonus in SF/seattle for new grad Was wondering if anyone knows about this company's WLB and could talk more about it, aside from all the negative (fake positive?) reviews online Is the company's product good/safe, how long are the hours, is this a good place to start vs other hiring companies like Bloomberg/Palantir/Other startups? etc.. #hive #hiveai #wlb #culture #engineering #software #swe
Personally, I wouldn’t take it unless they offered a lot more. TC seems low for level of work at a startup from what I hear
how is it low for new grad lol
Are you also a new grad? I genuinely can't tell if Hive is worth the risk
It's a startup. Most startups don't have a culture since they r pretty small - the people define the culture. As people come and go, culture will naturally change. More people = better culture. The people at Hive are probably the most fun you'll have as a new grad at any company. The issue is having fun outside of work so take advantage of your weekends ;)
Good product and trajectory but horrible for your mental health
any comment like the one above that tries to convine u to ignore terrible culture and "be the change" by adding more ppl to improve the culture....doesnt understand culture. culture at a startup starts at the top and in this case the rot is top down i just hung out w friends there and what they shared blew me away...ive been on a mission today going thru blind to see if the shills were as bad as they said lol. i had my own bad startups experience when i started my career a few yrs ago and it sounds worse in every way avoid if you have literally any other option
Thanks for the warning
Take a look at my experience: https://www.teamblind.com/post/7W1NC4Xu
This lines up with everything my friend shared. It is crazy how well known this place is in new grad circles for being the worst place to work in tech. I wonder how long til the shoe string infra and products he complained about fall apart. Maybe they will convince more 2nd and 3rd tier investors (and desperate new grads) to buy them time in this ai bubble...
Everything mentioned here keep in mind are from newly joined new grads who expect to be in a non-hard working, vacation like tech environment. If you are realistic, people should know you don't come to startups for the culture or the rest and vest. You are here to learn and get out asap when you feel ready to do your own startup. That's what startups are for.

China CYBERATTACK on UK ? WTF
Just personal anecdote from when I interviewed a month ago, it seems like the lower level ppl are all pretty personable but the ceo feels like Elon 2.0. Although ppl did mention wlb got better as they hired more ppl . Also curious since I got some conflicting views regarding the company.
