1 yoe hardware engineer considering a software engineer position at BAH for ~115 TC and wanted to know whether the 401k plan (I think through Fidelity) allows for after tax contributions and in service withdrawals to be able to use the mega backdoor Roth. EDIT: I have likely comparable offers coming through so this info is pretty crucial to making the financially optimal decision (and unfortunately my recruiter is unable to help). Current tc ~81
BAH uses Voya for 401k (Fidelity is only for ESPP) and there is a Roth post-tax contribution option in addition to traditional pre-tax non-Roth, but I have no clue on the specifics you’re asking. Voya might be able to help, BAH’s plan is called Employee Capital Accumulation Plan (ECAP), so reference that if you reach out to Voya. Good luck!
Ask your recruiter? But this really isnt a make-or-break factor, so it sounds like you might be descending into overanalysis paralysis.
I did ask my recruiter, and it devolved into me trying to explain the difference between Roth and after-tax to her so that's a bit of a dead end. I have other offers in the pipeline and the tax advantage could easily be in the high six figures by the time I reach retirement age so this actually does impact my decision.
