Hi, I have an offer from Lucid motors, for Sr. Software engineer position. Still in the phase of discussing the package. Would like to get any inputs/advice on what all I can negotiate in terms of the total package. How's the company generally, how it is doing especially going into production, work culture etc. Thanks in advance #lucidmotors #offer #thoughts #engineering @THOUGHTS @Lucid Motors #tech #tech
Nah run, something fishy at lucid
Personally I don't believe the above two posts. Checkout the new website and book a tour of the studio to get a feel of where things are heading. There are absolutely amazing things happening. And it's a car. It's better to produce a high quality car than just shove something on the road. The pace at Lucid and the experience of setting everything from round up.. Literally ground up... Is absolutely awesome. I believe EV is the next biggest market. I do understand that without a car on road, it's difficult to see what the company has to offer. But it's coming soon enough.
No car. No fast charger network. Dead man walking.

For all the people saying Lucid can’t deliver: Automotive is a capital intensive business and investment is difficult to find. Lucid went through a tough time before their last round of $1B funding, but after that they have been showing impressive progress. They plan to sell their cars next year, and I see that they supply batteries to Formula E, which means they have some revenue already (Lucid employees can confirm) Right now I think Lucid is ahead of Rivian, Fisker, Canoo, Karma, etc
@jj25, have you heard back from them? What's the package structure and YOE?
They gave a very low balled offer. I decided not to take it
How much was the offer ?

13 years in business. Not a single car delivered. 99 percent chance a car will never be delivered. Any stock component of the offer should be valued at zero. It’s all about the base pay. Or the learning experience: preparing you for a job an an EV maker that will deliver cars.
