Have an interview with MITRE for health IT program lead (consulting) role interview. I have solid domain knowledge. They asked to prepare 45 minutes technical presentation (any topic of my choice) with 15 minutes for Q&A. Anyone had similar? Any ideas what they are looking for?
It’s pretty common in my field to have interviews include a presentation to the combined team on technical work they’ve done in the past. I would emphasize your problem solving and planning processes, and talk about lessons learned and parallels to the role you’re applying for.
He/she/they/other should probably research the team he's applying and add that to the mix
Yeah this is common place, Lincoln labs does this as well.
huh didn't know this, thanks for the info - also are you at Northrop HQ or another office jw
I was in Maryland.
Most interviews at MITRE require a technical presentation. This is likely to see how you are able to relate your knowledge to others. Most MITRE work is for sponsors, so they want to ensure that you’re comfortable interfacing with others. Usually the interview is an all day affair. You’ll meet with some management and peers. Half is assessing you, the other half is seeing if MITRE is a good fit for you. Work/Life Balance is still a reality at MITRE, and one of the reasons it’s easy to stay. Challenging work, but not Google, FB, Microsoft or Apple paychecks. About the same as Defense. Better than Govt.
The heck kind of interview is this Technical could mean anything Sounds like some bs hiring process trying to be "hip", i wouldn't stress it too much just do what you want. Probably relate it to health in some way like.... Google AI detects cancer better than people or something
