Just got offered 250k base for a Director of Engineering position at Upwork. Is that normal??? I was expecting at least 350. Am I asking for too much? I thought that was normal for a director position!
No, normal is 350-450
Not any more.
No, it's still normal lol. Director jobs don't change like the wind and lowly L3-L5 swe jobs.
What’s the equity piece look like?
Depends - Director role and pay varies depending upon the company and it's Director scope
Depends on stock. Amazon had a base cap of 160 for a long time.
Its ok. Most of the startups cant pay beyond 250k.
Director means many different things. How many people will be in your org?
Director is new sr manager. Some small startups dont even have manager role. They have directly director level
did u take the offer? what’s your TC at upwork?
It also depends on what Director means in the company, for example there are Directors in Salesforce as well ;) who are just like M1.
Are you in a 2021 time loop?
It's almost like director level+ jobs are not the same as L3-L5 IC jobs.
