Laid off a couple months ago. Received similar offers from Visa and Oracle (OCI) for Program Manager. Which is the better choice long term?
OCI is not bad but you may have to slog like Amazon
Layoff as part of company restructuring? For okayish brand and extraordinary shield during recession, hands down Visa as they’re extremely stable, laid back environment , hard to get fired due to performance issues, good WLB but pay raise not much and no stocks unless you have competing offers. Also Visa is RTOing twice a week. For good resume boost, step into big tech ,good stock option and decent enough stability with team dependent WLB -Oracle
Take Visa, Oracle has been laying off for decades and is directionless.
Yes visa please
Show your oracle offer to Visa and ask them for higher base/level/RSus (if they have)
Please choose Visa for stability atm
Accept both the offers
This is the right answer
Visa
Depends where in OCI. Feel free to DM for atmospherics.
Oci is a hot mess. I know someone who accepted an offer, but before they started, there was a reorg and the hiring manager lost the req and my friend had to find a new team. She didn’t vibe with the other teams and ended up getting a job elsewhere.
