Currently a little overweight (168 lbs @ 5’11) and trying to cut out some carbs and do OMAD to help with my weight. Thinking about purchasing an Apple Watch to help lose weight and track my health. Wanted to know if anyone really found it helpful for losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. TC: 100k
Does Cigna not give it for free?
Nope
I’m thinking about the same thing, I’d love hear opinions
I have an Apple Watch 7 but the battery life is terrible. Maybe they improved it now. A fitness watch hasn’t really helped me exercise more. I feel like it’s one more accessory to worry about when going on a run.
What helped you exercise more? Time of day? Different activities?
What helped me was dedicating a time of day to be outdoors and running. In the winters that’s usually the lunch hour for me. I also bought some free weights that I keep around for workout. Push-ups and sit-ups can be done whenever. So exercises that have low barrier to entry like those certainly worked for me.
Or if you are female
If you want one, get an Apple Watch SE. I paid $249 for the old 44mm SE model during BFCM 2021. I don’t believe the bigger models have any meaningful benefits over that one. For me, the biggest factor about it is I can go running with headphones and without my phone. Second factor is having a silent alarm so I can wake up early without waking up my partner. But that’s mainly it. If you are into tracking, I would recommend you a scale thst tracks your bodyweight. I have one by Renpho, you can find them on Amazon for $25. It connects to my phone via Bluetooth and I can easily track down my weight & history this way
Worth it. It motivates me to fill my rings and make improvements. Top 5 purchase for me Also get my fitness pal for tracking calories which links to apple health
Yea do it. Will keep you accountable
I’m 5’8” and 165 and am not overweight
If you're not motivated to exercise no magic equipment will be able to force you, just ask all the treadmill owners. But if you are motivated, a fitness watch (doesn't have to be apple) or tracking in general can help to keep you engaged
Yes but only if you have others to compete with since you can do competitions. For me personally that’s what pushes me
