The currently released version Gemini Pro is slightly better than GPT-3.5. They're saying Gemini Ultra which will be released next year performs slightly better than GPT-4 in most academic benchmarks.
But by that time chat gpt will release gpt6
Let’s hope that we can find a way to make some of the tech actually useful to users.

I’ve been using it internally and chatgpt4. Both have strengths and weaknesses. I’d say it’s about parity.
It has less than 1/4 the context window of gpt-4 turbo. I don’t think they are competitive
