researching roles

hi stranger i have a marketing degree with sales experience. i am working as a sales support role that i really enjoy but i am always looking ahead. i have some light python coding. i bought some courses on udemy which i prefer over lynda. i work for a company that sells all sorts of products from patio and garden to home furniture to toys. i like my job because I'm looking at sales numbers, talking to people from other departments, working with various projects that are involved with researching products on our marketplaces and analyzing problems. i enjoy working with excel, looker and netsuite. i like being able to help others out. i want to have some of the same thingsi currently enjoy but with some coding involved. what companies/ positions do you recommend in so cal? tell me more about the life and culture there. not really looking to move right now but i want to look into the future. I'd appreciate any feedback. 26 Male TC: 40k

While I like the initiative you r taking. It would be hard to find any big companies mixing sales with devs Though small startups might get u started on your path as there u have to wear several hats and they won’t mind anyone pitching in for coding while also doing sales.

I like the mix between marketing and coding but I think it's going to be hard finding that role. It's one of the other. I meant I liked looking at sales numbers. I might end up going the data scientist route but I look at the qualifications and I think I'm underqualified. Then again I am not too familiar with that department and don't know much about it. I'd like to know the people.

Oh wow your TC... where do you live?😮... To answer your question, if you get a MBA, you can move into PM roles. I.e Product manager roles and triple that TC.

You can also try technical sales if you're not interested in getting a MBA. I have a friend who work IT sales in Austin and makes $120k a year.

Do I really need an MBA to become a PM? If I have relevant or transferable experience it should be good right? Then again, I don't think that role would be cut out for me as I think PMs have so much pressure for a product to perform. It might be something I would look into for sure. I'm in Irvine, CA. I am still young. 27 as of Monday.
