This EU is bad for tech https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/18/24005996/adobe-figma-acquisition-abandoned-termination-fee
Adobe CEO couldn’t do the needful
Oof
‘eu literally trying to make it harder for adobe to become a stronger monopoly and pushing figma to flourish independently’ ‘eu is bad for tech’ ok
How is the EU bad for tech when they’ve helped enforce privacy/security laws and standardize USB-C by forcing Apple to make the switch?
Usb c iphone was already in pipeline And if it wasnt a forced upgrade you would not get usb 2 cables in box even with pros , if you want usb 3 speeds get a 100$ cable
Next they are forcing for user replaceable batteries so forget ip68 in next couple of years
Adobe was going to ruin Figma anyway.
The market didn’t seem to care much. Adobe was up 75% YTD
Feeling bad for Figma employees as they are gonna miss out on a sky high 20B valuation with 75% Adobe stock upside from the date of merger announcement
Figma bros thought they were getting paid. Oops. It’s was way overpriced and Adobe just got out of it. Sorry take our 1 billion so you won’t sue us
Do they get a cut of the 1b?
Who is they?

It was for good. At $20B it was definitely overpriced.
