My friends taking the course say it's great. Depends on what your end goal is and if it would ultimately benefit you.
I'm trying to use it as a starting point to get into the field
If you are looking for an entry point how much it helps will depend on the company you are targeting. Many companies like FB & Google will value a formal education preferably a PhD and atleast a masters much more. Other companies like Amazon and startups might be more open to giving a chance especially if the experience as a SWE is significant. Also self driving car is more niche and unless you specifically target companies in that area, a more general area might be better (like deep learning).
