I'm not sure how it goes well. They don't make money -- reddit users are the least valuable users. The site is largely run by volunteers. I guess they could become a data company for AI training
They already are.
They've never been profitable. They did have a data deal, unclear if that will lead to sustained profitability.
How valuable is selling ads to a bunch of jobless losers?
Would this impact porn content on the site?
💩
Better late than never?
+ data company for LLM training + Anonymous social network like blind, so people open up and will keep using it + Meme stock potential - tech savvy users many of whom will have ad blockers - sanitizing the website of porn to retain advertisers (unlikely) might shoo away some users TBH, I more addicted to Reddit than anything But also I'm broke..
God help us if AI is fully trained off responses you get off reddit. Sure, there are some nuggets of gold in there, but for the vast majority, it's canned responses. It'll be like living in a mashup of the Twilight Zone and Idiocracy. Also yes, I am aware they already use data from reddit for training.
I kinda like some subreddits
Sure, but it does that make it a good investment?
The irony of ads on /r/antiwork, /r/latestagecapitalism finding out ads, it’s full circle.

Toxic liberal grooming den
That's irrelevant. The problem is their users aren't willing to buy anything
Do you have a recommendation that’s not a MAGA republican den?
