Hi, I have an offer from Lucid motors, for Sr. vehicle controls engineer position . Still in the phase of discussing package. Would like to get any inputs/advice about the company generally, how it is doing especially going into production, work culture etc. My profile, working in Michigan with 3 yrs experience. Thanks in advance #lucidmotors #offer #thoughts
How’s the package?
Have a phone call in a couple of days to discuss that.
What do you expect to get? I can tell you how realistic it is for us.
You will work hard and not be paid enough. Tech is great, and the company is full of smart individuals. Work life balance is pretty bad, the hope is it will be worth it at the end. If you haven't gotten numbers yet, prepared to be low balled.
Thanks for the input , yeah the role and tech seems promising. But as mentioned I'll have to check the package before I ddecide. Will update here about the package once i know more.
Did you get numbers?
It's a mandatory hours company, which is against the norm for silicon valley. They don't overpay for their engineers and seem to have a solid financial backing, so they should be around for a while. I will warn you, make sure to check the COL difference, I think you will be in for a bad shock when you realize all the additional pay will get eaten by housing, and then some.
But do the employees get compensated for overtime they put in
They're salaried, so no, not really. Maybe if you consider that they are working for their stock to be worth something?
Just 3 years in Detroit and already getting Sr. Level engineer role- you must be doing something right
Nothing special needed. Any one with 2+ yoe will be offered Sr. Position in California automotive companies. Not like in MI where fixed experience is needed.
If you are not ready for an aggressive Silicon Valley startup life style then stay in Michigan.
Based on a recent conversation with a recruiter representing Lucid, you should get no less than $150k as the base, plus stocks. Do not consider any less, because Newark is not by any means a cheap place to stay. Plus, it is now well understood that Lucid does not pay commensurate to expectations in the bay area.
Yeah... automotive folks in MI don't know how good they have it. I went from 10 - 4 at GM to 8 - 8 at lucid.
You cracked me up 😂
If you want to cruise with good WLB, GM definitely supports that.
OP did you take the offer?
Can u refer?
Your present company?
For sure Rivian
Lol doxxd
