Have verbal offers from Hubspot and Amazon. The work in both teams are interesting but I am wary of Amazon's culture. Hubspot is paying lesser than Amazon but they really tried to match Amazon's comp. I am also joining at a higher level in Hubspot. I have other phone and onsite interviews scheduled and I am tempted to cancel them. Amazon TC: 270k Hubspot TC: 240k Yoe: 4 I am leaning more towards Hubspot. I know having Amazon on your resume opens doors to a lot of future opportunities. Will having Hubspot on your resume also open doors to other good opportunities in the future?
Are both locations nyc?
Amazon is a trash company I throw out resumes I see from there
Really? Why?
They teach horrible culture not worth bringing the toxicity into a team
Don't join Amazon when you have a comparable offer. Save yourself the mental stress. 240k for 4 yoe remote sounds like a solid offer.
Hubspot will not look bad on your resume, but it also won't open any doors. Not that you should base your decision on that. Just wanted you to know.
Would Amazon open any doors though?
Why do you think it wont open doors?
What'd you end up deciding?
My deadline for both offers is July 16th. Hubspot was on a break this week. I am hoping to meet the team next week and negotiate on the salary before making a final decision.
Worth noting that you're never going to get a week long company holiday at Amazon
Will Hubspot has the same level of technical challenges that Amazon might have? I know Amazon is a difficult place, but does joining Hubspot help your career grow?
Which one did you decide ?
Ask Amazon for higher comp and go there if you want to grow
