I received an offer from relativity for senior software engineer. Just wanted to know how is the company and work culture. Was there any layoffs that has happened currently or in the past ? With the current market situations I am confused weather joining relativity is the right decision or not.
legal industry is usually pretty insulated from recession. as far as tech companies go i feel pretty good about being here if the market continues to go south
It's a good company to join.
Could you let us know the offer? Dm if you want more info
Hi, I saw your post from 1 year ago about Relativity. I joined recently and was wondering when annual bonuses are paid and also how often salaries are increased. How do I know or calculate the dollar value of my LTI?
Potential TC?
TC ?
Total compensation
Roflmao look at us all in this thread just thrilled anyone wants to talk about us 😂
Must be a good sign that everything about Relativity is the space company, not us.
Everyone is trying to figure out that salary band 🥺
I joined from another company during the summer and it's been a breath of fresh air. Larger team, great people, great benefits, minimal on call and great WLB (on my team at least). All that plus a nice raise for joining. Also feel pretty good knowing the legal industry is fairly isolated from the incoming economic issues.
Great to know. Which team are you in ? If that’s ok for you to share ?
Team dependent for sure. In terms of layoffs, people lay themselves off lately. Poor comp and on call is absolutely brutal for some teams so they don't stick around.
How about QA and SET roles, since there are no QA or SETs how is the regression suite or quality is being maintained by only SWEs?
With the mass layoffs happening across tech, I am really skeptical about my decision to join.
Because of the layoffs and general turbulence I'm more likely to stay here actually. So it depends how your old company is faring.
Well layoffs today so… that sucks

Relativity the ediscovery company, yeah? Last year all qa/set were let go, but it was because CTO thought we should rely on automatic testing only, and that the tests should be written by SWEs. It was not related to the market. Beyond that, no layoffs. The company has healthy financials. It’s a private company so I don’t think it’s right for me to go into too much detail publicly beyond this. Do you have other questions I can answer?
Thank you for responding. What about the work culture, work life balance etc ?
Very team dependent. Some teams are mature and work at a very healthy pace, others are underwater. Many teams have very bad on call. Ask your Hiring Manager about oncall and see what they say. (How often would I be on call and how many calls can I expect?)
