I have about 150k points in the Marriott bonvoy credit card , I think they are about 0.8 cents each. I'm trying to book a hotel using points and it says the total points required are 170k. It's not letting me pay the remaining through cash. Has anyone experienced this? It's through the Marriott bonvoy app
If you don’t have enough points you need to buy more points to complete the purchase. Most bookings usually have a cash+points option but the redemption values on those are terrible. You usually end up paying a bunch of cash and a whole lot of points. If you don’t have the points, either buy points, do a points transfer from an eligible credit card if you have one or just pay cash
Do you have certs? Usually bonbon cards gets you ine annually. Bonbon let's you add 15k(per day, idk?) For stays like that. Makes it easy to get 2.0cpp or more. Aka $200/cert plus points gets you in $800/ night hotel with amenities.
Just get the Sapphire Reserve instead.

Doesn't translate exactly to cash prices. Each hotel/room/time period has a #points/day. Some hotels don't offer points redemption during certain days. A standard rate room has to be available to use points. Use the Bonvoy app and turn on "Book with Points".
