Is Ikea Standing desk good?

Does anyone have an experience with Ikea's Bekant Desk? https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/bekant-desk-sit-stand-white-s29022520/ Some of the reviews suggest the motor stops working after a while! But this is one of the very few that has more range towards the lower side - goes down as low as 22 inches. Most other desks have min height of 25-28 inches. I am 5'4''. TC: 200K

It sucks. U are better off buying something from Uplift or Autonomous

Speaking from personal experience?

Apple faangsimp Sep 12, 2020

Yes

eBay yday Sep 12, 2020

I got mine from Autonomous. It's pretty good. Easy to install. Just installed it yesterday.

I have heard really good reviews about autonomous and uplift. Wish they had desks that went lower.

Why dont u try a footrest to make up for the height. My wife is also 5’4” and she uses the Autonomous desk and uses an adjustable footrest. The footrest is just $30 on amazon

I have had one for three years. The motor stopped working in the first year but ikea replaced it quickly. No issues since.

Microsoft kgftb OP Sep 12, 2020

How are replacements handled? They ship a new motor and you just replace it or you have to return the desk?

Amazon QfIq48 Sep 12, 2020

I called the warranty line, they diagnosed the problem, and sent me a replacement. It was black box that plugs in, easy swap.

Spend some money. I got the uplift with walnut. It’s a beautiful thing. Invest in a good setup.

I got this and it’s great. 46” is a little too small so maybe get the next size up. Only $200 and it’s super solid since it’s technically a work bench. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-46-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-in-White-HOLT46XDBJ2/312063228 You just use a knob so you won’t have to worry about a motor dying. You don’t need to put on the wheels or that cross bar on the bottom. Looks just like a regular desk.

Great find man. It would’ve been great if the adjustable height was a bit higher..I usually keep at around 44in at office.

Uplight ZzzPp Sep 23, 2020

Yeah I’m on the shorter side and have it at max level. If I was any taller it would probably not be tall enough for me. Would be perfect for OP.

Autonomous products suck. They have shit warranty and they pay for good reviews. Uplift and actual good desk/chair companies don’t pay for reviews and actually have good warranty.

I am also 5'-4", and I own this desk from VIVO and use it with a keyboard tray. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V4TDKSP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7KuxFbX18P0S6 I've been using this desk for 5 months, and have no complaints. I like that it has the 3 height memory setting so I can have a sit, stand, and treadmill height.

If you are 5’4”, I highly recommend getting a lower height one. Unfortunately that one from ikea is the only one that can go as low as 22 I can find in the market. The home depot one seems good Remember the table top could be 1-2 inches too. Don’t try to think of using footrest when now you have the option to get a lower height desk.

Microsoft kgftb OP Sep 12, 2020

Thanks ! I ended up ordering the ikea one. If it breaks I will deal with it..

Atlassian d@t_person Sep 12, 2020

Yea I’m Dumb I thought u posted another one. This is great that it goes so low. Most don’t so it’s cool that ikea does have one like this

I like it. Been working for over 4 years now
