With the approval of demolitions of thousands of homes in the West Bank and the approval of tens of thousands of illegal settlements in the West Bank. The current population of illegal settlements in the West Bank is over 700K. What is the goal of these settlements? Netanyahu told the world already. His party wants to eliminate any chance of a two state solution and create a one state “greater Israel”. But, ok. Then what? Palestinians will live equally among Israelis? Separate and unequal? Will Israel give 7M Palestinians equal rights (an equal population)? Rights to vote? Rights to protest (we already see Arab Israelis arrested for this daily)? If not, how is permanent occupation under a one state democratic? I’m not sure I have the answers, but I don’t think Israel is headed in the right direction. These settlements were a big mistake.
2 state solution is dead. Neither side wants it as final outcome. Palestinians only "want" it as a stopgap on the way to their "river to the sea" dream. Israel will remain a Jewish state. So they won't be given Palestinians voting rights. Those are the hard points. The rest is details.
The two state proposals that have been issued account for the settlements and parcel out the land in the West Bank providing most of the West Bank to Israel. I don’t think anyone would ever agree to that. Agree with you though. A jewish state by definition cannot have non Jews living in it and still be considered democratic. Now I see why Israel said nukes were an option.
Palestinians living in Dearborn are happy they aren't in Gaza or West Bank. That's a hint of what the real solution to this is.

Netanyahu's goal is actually very simple, stay in power for as long as possible.
Here are all the Israel Goals listed: https://mondoweiss.net/2023/12/genocide-in-service-of-nakba-2023/
Look up the Likud party charter. “From the river to the sea, there is only Israeli sovereignty “ They want to make conditions so unbearable for the Palestinians that they’ll all leave.
Yeah this is why none of the Arab countries want to accept 7 million refugees. That’s ethnic cleansing. They know it’s not right to force people out of their homes. Unfortunately, Israel is resorting to indiscriminate bombings of infrastructure to make it impossible to return. Palestinians are resilient. Short of killing them, they will not leave. I think we are starting to see that they are trying that option though. Not even talking about Gaza, purely the occupation in the West Bank.
Likud Party believes the Palestinians only want the destruction of Israel and that there’s no point negotiating with them. They have good reason to think so, too, as the last 80 years have shown. They don’t specifically say the Palestinians should leave the West Bank, but they do believe the West Bank is Israel’s land, and that no state will be formed by any Arabs there.
