I’m an APM at my current company (not Kinder Morgan) and have a budget for trainings and self development. Is there any specific trainings/certifications that anyone can recommend? Anything that is respected on a resume from FANG type companies is what I’m hoping to get. #pm #product #productmanager
PMP. Even though it’s project management related, a lot of product manager job descriptions will say “PMP preferred”.
Disagree. In fact run far away from anything like this. They want a project manager, not product.
Only commenting because during my last job search for a Product Manager role, about half the jobs listed PMP preferred. Maybe there are some skills overlap with the product development and lifecycle processes. Note, I’m not the one writing up these job requirements. Only trying to help since that was my experience.
Honestly - at this point of your career - a solid PM coach will be better for you than any standardized training. Happy to chat via DMs if you want more information
