Hi Anyone know about CarGurus? How are they .. how’s their phone screen like ? LC? TC 150k
Cargurus has the concept of “we want you to start shipping code on day 5” concept. Tbh i feel very few engineers can start shipping code on day 5 without knowing the system before hand however genius the person be. personally its a red flag to me and lc medium.
The pushing to production on day 5 is just a way to get you familiar with the whole dev and cicd pipeline. It’s not scary at all. You will be working on some small task on the first days and there are plenty of people helping you during the whole process.
As far as phone screen goes, some fairly straightforward algorithms and sql, and basic understanding of how web servers work.
Okk thanks .. like LC easy / medium types ?
Yeah, definitely not more than that
Leetcode medium for phone screening
Also, they try to give best possible offer without getting into negotiation BS. Just don’t tell them a umber no matter how much they ask. Let them come up with their best number.
Ok great thanks a lot
OP, I have the phone screen too. What kind of sql do they ask? Like regular joins, sub queries etc. or a little too deep? Also, how many coding questions do they ask in one hour? (Not sure if you are yet to give the interview :P)
Hi yea , I was not well and had to postpone the interview.. trying to get same details .. will dm u once I get / once mines over.. when’s your interview?
Cool. Good luck! I haven't scheduled yet. Probably in next couple weeks or so.
Simple SQL queries, joins, order by etc. If you have done leetcode sql and/or hacker rank sql then you are good. 10-15 mins SQL then 20-30 mins programming question.
That's helpful. Thanks! LC medium-types for coding? Also, was there a mini system design type question for phone?
My phonescreen only one question on coderpad. Design LRU. got invited for onsite Any idea what is the salary range for senior software engineer ?
When you have a chance, tell them to fix their stupid UI on the car listing page.
Seriously. It’s 2019. Stop breaking open-in-a-new-tab with JS-only buttons.
