Future of Fitbit

So Fitbit reached out with an interesting opportunity... yay, nay, have a chat or run for the hills? Oh and trolls please keep it to yourself, or I’ll just return the favor :-)

Microsoft NewHorizon Mar 13, 2018

Have a chat. Why not?

Amazon BakBown Mar 13, 2018

Always valuable to talk about opportunities. Gives you practice at a minimum, can build your network slightly, may even turn into something real.

Netflix fs92 Mar 13, 2018

Trolololololololololooooooo Am I doing it right?

Fitbit cxgaaaa Mar 13, 2018

Fitbit has a monoculture and to fit in you need to absolutely worship the company and its every product. For everyone else there are personal attacks on blind to force you quit.

Fitbit cxgaaaa Mar 13, 2018

Btw the company doesn't like internal critics of the company on blind. If you do you will be banished

Microsoft CwCJ71 Mar 13, 2018

How do they banish in anonymous chat? And do you have an example? I don’t think that’s going to be healthy at all in discouraging constructive feedback.

Fitbit cxgaaaa Mar 13, 2018

@CwCJ71 there are many ways to banish an anonymous chat. People create polls and flood blind with personal attacks against you until you cannot stand it anymore or quit blind. Fitbit on blind sometimes look like a narcissist Nazi nation. Ruled by 1 opinion and 1 way of speaking. Examples such people on blind will keep calling you 'shit brain' or just 'shit' or even create polls to invite other folks to group attack you on blind. It's a pathetic culture at least and poisonous in nature.

Uber Dora Mar 13, 2018

*yay, nay, have a chat, or run away

Fitbit Gouda Mar 14, 2018

FB to FIT. Why?

Fitbit Gyvyby Mar 14, 2018

Don't. The future is foggy for Fitbit. Most good people have left or leaving. If you are looking for a smaller place than FB, there are tons of better options out there.

Netflix fs92 Mar 14, 2018

Like Netflix!

Fitbit BobbaBit Mar 15, 2018

Nay. Not a place for top talent. Averse to growing up and adopting larger company practices. Weak senior management. People are bailing after their bonus payouts which are today. I’ve been here over a year and it’s been painful. Work / life is myth for lots of us

Fitbit cxgaaaa Mar 15, 2018

Well said.

Facebook BillyBob OP Mar 15, 2018

Thank you for the insight!

Fitbit Candles Mar 18, 2018

WLB is pretty solid in software, 36-40 hour weeks generally. Average talent isn’t FB level, but I still learn things from my coworkers, and my career continues to grow. CTO is awesome, bit lukewarm on the other leadership at the moment though
