sure demo is usually exaggeration, you pick best settings, cut out latency, speed up video, etc but this is different, setting up still images and text prompting with hints are completely different in nature with what has been shown. the demo is fabricated, calling it fake is not an exaggeration kinda terrifying that people who have no engineering integrity is in charge of the future of AI. inb4 Googler making banana joke. sure give it to me

I had chance to get into machine learning many years ago. But I thought I’m too honest to work in this field. In case my goal is to let machine talk to human, I don’t understand how can anyone call it done before they actually build such machine. But apparently researchers in this field (and many companies) have published countless papers despite the fact that no one has ever successfully built the machine yet. That’s grandmaster level of expectation management. And many people made tons of money from doing it.
Quantum computing is in the same boat but less hyped. Mostly theoretical, speculative tech.
AlphaGo.. Deep Reinforcement Learning has been around for a while. Unfortunately has taken a step back in research due to NLP and CV.
I’m more concerned that Sergei Brin was working on Gemini and still allowed this to happen.
