are there any pr/comms or marketing people here? my contract with cision is about to expire ($15k/yr for two seats) and is about to go up. i've heard good things about muck rack. is it cheaper than cision? #pr #comms #communications #marketing #muckrack #b2b #saas
I used Cision back when it was CisionPoint and then when they acquired Trendkite. I paid $12K/year for one seat at each of those companies. I use Muck Rack now and pay $6K/year for three seats. Ask the salesperson about "Muck Rack Small Business" - that's what my invoice says I have. I got the deal by asking to pay $6K and locking it in for three years ($18K contract). I haven't used Cision recently, but Muck Rack is great. I get fewer bounceback from emails, and the software is more complete with interactive media lists (it'll tell you if the reporter switches beats or outlets in the media list and email alert) and pitches. If you have junior team members, Muck Rack is also great because the product gives them feedback about their pitches (too long, no personalization, etc.) and media lists (AI that helps you find other similar reporters to pitch) and free online courses about pitching and social media.
