we are often first ones in layoff cycle... expect more throughout... we laid off 2K in 2022 aug then followed tech companies with big numbers...

Jackson Dawson LUsr08 Aug 24, 2023

Eek, I was gearing up to apply there. šŸ˜¬

Snowflake IANAHB2 OP Aug 24, 2023

Yeah, was about the same time last year too (September 1, 2022)

Welcome to bidenomics

Reddit curtail Aug 24, 2023

Mass layoffs were happening under Trump as well. Trumpenomics. One of the biggest stock markets crashes too.

Coursera GQvx72 Aug 24, 2023

Donā€™t mix facts with fiction, the mass layoffs of 2022/2023 was under Biden.

Amazon L5 300k Aug 24, 2023

Any info on the job roles that were laid off?

T-Mobile nosmartyet Aug 24, 2023

Ouch. I seem to remember some BS during the Sprint merger where the CEO promised that the combined company would be jobs positive and only grow in jobs after the deal closed. I donā€™t know the employee count but itā€™s got to be net negative at this point. Where are all the angry politicians at? Probably canā€™t break up the company at this point, but they could drag TMO through the mud and destroy the BS reputation.

T-Mobile mintyman Aug 24, 2023

I believe we are net 7k jobs negative. All smoke and mirrors. All the politicians got their bribes, why do they care now

Microsoft YJGu51 Aug 27, 2023

And that's before these layoffs.

Starbucks coffeeeee3 Aug 24, 2023

T-Mobile has been quietly laying off thousands for at least the last year and a half. At least Sievert finally grew some balls and actually acknowledging this new round. Sievert took a company that was actually winning and drove it into the ground. It boggles my mind why he's paid so well.

Amazon 6:jd10- Aug 24, 2023

Agreed. He has some strange hard-on for Sprint leaders and failed way of doing business. He worked at AT&T and and Clearwire, so he is trying to make T-Mobile in to a magenta Sprint. Also, homeboy lead part of Windows Vista at Microsoft, which I think we can all agree was a heaping pile of shit. There isnā€™t an innovative bone in his tiny body.

T-Mobile gDXT01 Aug 24, 2023

This is different. This was part of a big ā€œworkforce transformationā€ initiative and was coordinated across the company instead of being piecemeal by org.

Verizon bunny šŸ‡ Aug 24, 2023

When Verizon layoffs

T-Mobile mintyman Aug 24, 2023

Probably following soon. In all seriousness, expect layoffs in att and verizon too. Higher interest rates hammer large corps who borrow each year

Amazon 6:jd10- Aug 24, 2023

Sprint was a pile of debt when the merger closed.

Bidenomics is working

T-Mobile M_Audacity Aug 24, 2023

Lol Care to explain why you think that this was caused by Bidenomics?
