I am a senior cs student and will be graduating this December. I have currently received two offers from JPMorgan Chase and American Express in the NYC area. JPMorgan Chase has a base salary of 110k and a sign-on bonus of 20k and an annual bonus of 10k. Amex: base 100k, sign-on 10k, annual bonus 8% of base salary. Even though the base and sign-on is lower than JPMorgan Chase but wlb is better at amex. Who should I work for as a new graduate? I am still waiting for feedback from another company.
Do you know the teams? Talk to both hm and see which you like more, where is there more mentoring opportunity, what is remote culture of the org, as new grad I highly recommend 2 to 3 times a week in office with senior devs and other org people. Brand wise about the same though you could argue amex is more tech on the scale...
I know the team and like the team at Amex, but the concern I have is that my team is based in Phenix and I am the only one in NYC. Personally, I like to work in the office. If I were to work for AMEX, I would not be able to interact with team members like the way we do in person. I would say the AMEX is more flexible in a remote culture, but as a new graduate, I don't mind working in the office. I don't think I am able to talk to HM now.
Why you in NYC if rest in AZ?
Hey is this for the associate product manager or whatever job? Just out of curiosity
Software engineer
Go for JPM, there you will find a better networking opportunity. Amex is good but JPM is better in my opinion, based on what I have seen.
It is funny that I got the offer from capital one and I chose Capital one over Amex and jpmc and you are working for Capital one!
None. Rather driver uber
?
He is out of his mind. I work 20 hours a week and still make as much as a Uber driver.
