Hello Blindverse, I got a Google Interview for SWE! I've asked for couple months prep time and the recruiter was happy to accommodate. I would like your help, tips on how to best prepare for the interview (L4+). Recruiter said there will not be any system design rounds, is that true? I think every other interview (fb, airbnb, microsoft..), I'm preparing for, would have system design round. What do you think about discrete math, advanced trees (red black, avl, etc), bit manip? Any resources you think might be helpful? TC = 160 YoE = 2.5 Thank you! #google #interview #leetcode #swe
For onsite (virtual) or phone interview?
No system design = L3/L4
Avl is just annoying to implement due to whole rotation logic. Haven’t seen a single LC problem covering it. Bit manipulation also sucks ass. What do u mean by discrete math?
Never seen AVL trees come up. Bit manipulation actually has come up a few times but not so often. I've also had probability questions come up. In this case discrete math might mean implement permutations combinations which is covered in LC
Gotcha. Appreciate it!
Interval trees and segment trees showed up in my onsite. Wasn’t familiar with those data structures, so missed optimal solutions.
YOE? TC?
