how’s the wlb over there? is it really a place for millenuals or IBM style tech company (sorry IBM) curious for their GCP consulting practices
I’m moving over to Build and it seems amazing. People seem happy to be there. Can’t speak for consulting though.
I’m in consulting and while it varies from project to project, and somewhat depends on the client, but overall the WLB is a real deal. Been on 6 projects over the course of 2 years, 5 were awesome, 1 was a horrid grind for a horrible client. It was the first time we took on such a large project and muuuch was learned as a result. Was glad I could roll off after 6 months. Currently on a project with incredible flexibility, at a great client, doing very interesting work. Also, keep in mind, the promise of “WLB” is for consultants only. If you want to climb the totem pole here, you will have to rack up insane hours just like you would anywhere else. The part I love is that you are not forced to grow into other roles in order to make $. I’m planning to be a consultant for a very long time, just raking it in without any travel and minimal stress.

Depends on where you work in the business. It’s a huge company so the wlb in sales is going to be way different than, say, HR or Research. I’m in Corp marketing and have a pretty good balance IMO
Can you explain the wlb in sales vs research? Which one is better
