I've seen a good amount of staff/principal engineers who were ex FAANG leave Twilio recently who presumably weren't laid off. How's talent, morale, and eng culture at the company? Have an offer from them for 2x TC so will likely join in the next few weeks (Segment). 9 YOE $275K #twilio #segment #sendgrid
So that is like 550k. Congrats!
9yoe, amazon, 275k ?
Late starter and post cliff!
The stock has fallen 80%, and didn’t they have layoffs? I don’t see how morale can be high.
How was the interview process? LC and 1-2 sys design?
No LC just leadership & sys design
Staff engineer?
Why would you care about morale. Take the money
I am, just wanna know what I'm in for :)
I’d say it’s probably pretty depressing to have your effective pay be slashed like that. Many talented people will go get other jobs unless they’re massively increasing refreshers. The CPaaS space is getting crowded; will be interesting to see where Twilio ends up long-term
People are constantly leaving Twilio. If you joined before 2022, you're screwed on rsus. Company is definitely on the slide though. Segment is a top priority and it seems like a separate world to core Twilio. I would join if the money is that good. Cash from chaos.

What level are you joining at op?
Interesting I turned down the offer from them, mind sharing what time and role level you are joining in ?
How you want moral to be after 80% drop?
80% drop of what?
IDK is everyone trying to leave or what? Like what's the general vibe at the company right now?
