I got a verbal offer from Microsoft last week that includes "200" RSU. After I hung up with the recruiter, I started to doubt if she meant 200k in RSU or 200 MSFT RSUs (about 60k). I sent an email asking for confirmation but have not heard back yet. Do offers generally include a number of RSUs or a dollar amount in RSUs? E.g., we offer you 333 RSUs or, we offer you $100k in RSUs. I believe offers usually include a dollar amount in RSUs, but want to double check to ensure I did not mess up my negotiation. :)
Offers for RSUs are almost always in $, not units.
They are mostly in $s, converted to units based on dates etc, so if stock price is low, you get more and vice versa
thats 200K USD worth of RSU vested over X years. Did she said 4 years? Usually thats the norm.
Yes, she said 4 years, 50 each year. Does not make sense for it to be units as 50 RSUs in dollars would be different each year based on stock price, but wanted to get others' opinions. Thank you!
That is 50K per year. Congratulations!
